A Birthday Girl’s Perfect Birthday Bash – Princess Style!
My step daughter is getting so big! Late April was my step daughter’s 8th birthday, and while it is a bitter sweet moment for parents, there was nothing bitter about her princess, tea party and dress up birthday party! For this very special occasion we had to go all out. My step daughter hasn’t had many big birthday parties or special parties just for her. (Long story short – we don’t have full custody and she has been moved around schools and homes a bit.) Anyways, we really wanted to make this birthday special now that she has been at her new school awhile and made some amazing new friends!

For the little one’s birthday party we decided to go big with a Princess Dress- Up Party from Chelsea’s Tea Room & Boutique! Each party lasts 1hr-2hrs depending on how many guests you have, which can be up to 10 girls. We had a few of our girl’s not RSVP or show up, so it lasted about an hour or so.
Once all of our guests arrived the first thing our party host did was glamour everyone up! Each guest, and of course the birthday gal, got to choose a gorgeous color of paint for their nails and had their face full of sparkly and vibrant make up. After being prettified it was time to head on over to the dress up rooms!
The dress up rooms were more than I could have dreamed of! There were multiple rooms with various dresses hung about and even a private dressing room to get dressed up. There were so many options and sizes so each girl could feel fabulous by picking something she loved. They even had necklaces to jazz the look up even more. Of course after becoming little fashionistas, we had to head on over to the catwalk to show off our looks!
To start off our glamorous fashion show, our birthday girl was crowned queen and sat on the thrown after strutting down the runway. One by one each guest had the opportunity to strut their stuff along with being crowned princesses by the birthday girl. Each guest and birthday girl received an adorable crown and wand as party favors. The girls really enjoyed this and I loved the look and set up of this room, which was completely separated from the rest of the rooms. The colored brick also was an excellent touch to brighten up the room and give it flare!
After our fashion show and dance party, we headed on over to the tea room where we had “Giggle Tea”, cookies, truffles and mini muffins! (All of this, including the cake, is included in the party rate which is really fantastic!) We had a bad experience one time at a tea party boutique where the tea was really gross and the children didn’t like it, however the “Giggle Tea” here at Chelsea’s was a huge hit for the girls! They loved it and even asked for more!
After the treats, the hostess read a wonderful children’s book about a little girl having a tea party. She went over manners and all sorts of wonderful things for the girls to know about what to do at tea parties and when to use manners. Our hostess really went above and beyond to make our entire experience wonderful, especially for the little ones!
My step daughter chose the chocolate cake and it was delicious! The cake feeds 20, so there was enough for myself & the parents to enjoy a slice as well. We even had the opportunity to take home what was left over – which was gone the next day, it was that good!
After our delicious tea party, we headed on over back to the fashion show room where there was a beautiful lit up carriage for the birthday girl to open up her gifts. It made a wonderful prop for photos and was a terrific touch to make the birthday queen feel special!
Overall, the party at Chelsea’s Tea Room & Boutique was a huge success! The girls adored every minute and that’s the most important factor. If you are in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, you definitely need to head on over and check out this special occasion experience!
